Because I work with people and coughing is not very appealing to those in close proximity I chose to stop taking the medication. I was told that it would lessen my chances of kidney failure, heart attacks and strokes and help my medication work better. I found that my blood sugars were no different, while on Avandia. However, increasing the doseage of my diabetic medication did help for a while until I eventually went on insulin.
